Frank Lewis is our jock that is part of the Breakfast Club that broadcasts weekday mornings from 5:30am-9am. Born and raised in Beaver Falls on November 27, Frank’s mother was from Pittsburgh and father from Philadelphia. At the young age of 12 he first realized he wanted to become a broadcaster. Frank’s first broadcasting job was in New Castle, PA being the overnight DJ from 1am-8am. He even said during his first broadcast he got so flustered and nervous that he was ready to give up after an hour. Good thing he didn’t because he has come a long way since then.
Frank’s first big break in his career came in Pittsburgh when he hooked back up with a night jock at a radio station he interned at six years earlier. He started doing character voices on the jock’s show goofing around and ended up getting hired to be his partner. After that Frank has been all over the east coast boosting ratings at numerous stations. He was a morning show producer for three years at an oldies station in Pittsburgh and then a morning show co-host at an urban station there for the following year. After that Frank headed down south to Stuart, Florida where he co hosted a morning show for two years and was rated #1 for women 18-35. Following that he went to Vero Beach, FL where he worked at two stations for two years, then headed to Tallahassee raising ratings once again for another station. He then went back to Pittsburgh for a short time until he came to Philadelphia at the end of 2000 working at WEJM and Metro/Shadows Networks.
Frank has also done work outside of radio. He worked at two television stations in Pittsburgh and Florida for sports talk programs. Frank has also been in theater in Stuart, FL where he worked at a Shiloh Theatrical Productions for two years playing a variety of different characters. In his career he’s received an Air Award, and has been rated # 1 in a variety of demographics for at least three stations. Frank believes that the most important attribute to making a good DJ is their personality. He says if he weren’t a jock he would enjoy being a casino host. Currently residing in Pennsauken, NJ Frank enjoys cooking, watching sports especially his favorite team Notre Dame, attending concerts, and reading. |
